TOGETHERBAND’s global campaign to promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Hello my climate cuteness! πŸ™‚

Do you know someone with a heart so pure that it overflows? Or has a smile so sweet that you just smile back? Or who carries an energy so good you just want to be close to them?

So this is my friend Cameron, founder of TogetherBand.

I first met this gem through a connection from Otavio Toledo, the Brazilian producer for the UN Global Compact, during COP26 in Glasgow, UK. At that moment, TogetherBand developed a global movement inviting influencers and content creators to participate in a campaign with bracelets that represent the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

When I received the invitation, I immediately took the Sustainable Perifa group: VitΓ³ria Pinheiro, Ellen Monielle, and Mahryan Sampaio, who were representing part of the Brazilian youth at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference.

Now, for COP27 – Egypt, TogetherBand is taking a different approach. With the “Science Not Silence” campaign, we want to strengthen the voices of youth, indigenous peoples, black people, local communities, LGBTQ people and other marginalized groups.

All through fashion and design!

The girls and I received T-shirts created by award-winning designer of Afro-Latinx clothing for non-binary audiences Ed Mendoza with 100% recycled fabrics. The phrases are:

β— Respect Existence or Expect Resistance / SDG 13 – Climate Action (green).

β— Science not Silence / SDG 4 – Quality Education (red).

β— The Future is Indigenous / SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions (blue)

●  Simply Love / SDG 10 – Decrease in Inequalities (pink)

Dear reader, I used to dream about the things I am living today! When I started creating content for social media, one of my goals was to connect the world of influence with sustainability, blackness and fighting the climate crisis.

Now I can say that’s part of my reality! πŸ™‚
